I have 30 years experience in assisting learners to achieve top results. I teach all UK Examination boards (Oxford AQA, Edexcel, CIE etc.), as well as the South African Syllabus (WCED) in English and Afrikaans. I have a B.Sc. Degree (University of Stellenbosch) as well as a Higher Educational Diploma (University of Stellenbosch) and I am presently doing my Masters degree in Teaching Technology through ABAC University Bangkok. I am registered with SACE as a qualified educator.

I am an expert in online teaching and I use the latest technology in online education. I also provide students with exam based resources tailored after their specific needs. I also cater for groups and provide learning material in advance. I also have links to numerous online resources.

During my time at Stellenbosch (2012-2013), I was a BSc student struggling to grasp the ideas and concepts of Physics. After failing the unit for the first time, I was desperate to find someone who could easily and efficiently make the subject fun and understandable. Louis has a unique, practical manner in making the subject of Physics real and super easy to comprehend. I went from failing, to a 70% in a matter of weeks and it's all thanks to Louis' patience and passion for his work. I would highly recommend him as a tutor and mentor for any student wanting to sharpen their academic game.

Perfect! Louis is absolutely brilliant, my son had some issues with Grade 10 Chemistry, Louis assisted him in just 2 Lessons, I'm really, really impressed with Louis and will highly recommend him to any parent or student.

Mr Louis is really beyond excellent and has helped me quite a lot with my first year of physics. Even though I have not yet had a lot of lessons with him I can already see a huge boost in my understanding of the work that he helped me with thus far. Louis is a teacher who explains work very thoroughly and has a very engaging teaching style.

He has great communication skills he gives a broader explanation on his subjects and he makes sure you understand your work before moving to the next lesson anyone would be grateful to have him as their teacher my daughter has a 75% improvement in understanding her lessons.

He takes his time to explain any concept and according to how you don't understand it because before he teaches you he asks a few background questions concerning that particular subject and guides you through it

I am using effective 21st century technology, resources and communication platforms to enhance the learning experience and create a framework that promotes inquiry, understanding, problem solving and reasoning skills in an enjoyable and effective way. I am an expert in bringing abstract theoretical concepts into the concrete world of the learner by providing authentic examples and scenario’s that will lead to better understanding. I also provide examples of practical applications of the theory in order to enhance problem solving skills in the process of active application of theoretical knowledge. I treat students as individuals with unique learning abilities, preferences, background knowledge and aptitudes and then adapt my approach in teaching according to the unique character of each individual. I provide a variety of assessment techniques and resources that students can use to become familiar with exam type questions and us this to build confidence and examination skills in order to be successful.
